Andrew Laver, Managing Director
Mr. Laver has been building expertise and relationships in the life science industry for over 20 years. Prior to founding APL Capital Advisors, Mr. Laver gained investment and transactional experience in the private equity and venture capital industries. He was also a co-founder of Salt Lake Life Science Angels, an angel group focused on seed-stage medical investments. In 2016/2017 Mr. Laver acted as the life science industry advisor to the Utah Governor’s Office of Economic Development.
Additionally, he is the Managing Member and CFO of Fred Marshall Painting, one of the premier painting contractors in Utah. It is the oldest and largest painting company in Park City.
Prior to Mr. Laver’s work in business and finance, he worked in medical technology as an engineering project manager at Abbott Laboratories and as a research assistant at the University of Utah.
Mr. Laver earned a Master of Business Administration degree (with distinction) from New York University and a Master of Science degree in Bioengineering from the University of Utah. He also holds bachelor’s degrees (cum laude) in Electrical Engineering and Asian Studies from the University of Utah.
